Project Hollywood & The Return Of Game Houses
If you read a book by Neil Strauss called The Game, then you would know that Project Hollywood was the ultimate club house of pickup artists in the early 2000s, and people begged to be a part of it.
The Significance Of Project Hollywood
Project Hollywood was the most famous game house that ever existed, lasting for a few years in the early 2000s. Its address was 1317 Londonderry Place, Los Angeles, California, just a 30 second walk away from Sunset Boulevard.
I have interviewed and talked to multiple figures from the book The Game, including Erik Von Markovik, Ross Jeffries, Owen Cook, Nick Kho and Todd VanDeHey.
Ross Jeffries notably declined from joining Project Hollywood because he valued his alone time and peace, and didn’t want to be part of what he described as a frat house. However, Ross Jeffries and many others from The Game would meet regularly at Mel’s Diner, just round the corner from where Project Hollywood was. When you see it the Game Los Angeles Map, it’s ridiculously close.
There was an obsession with Project Hollywood in the early 2000s, and while it has been 20 years since its closure, the idea of being part of a game house continues to be popular.
What Was The Idea Behind Project Hollywood?
Erik Von Markovik (Mystery) came up with the idea to put together Project Hollywood in the first place, from a list of various projects he wanted to do. Project Hollywood was intended to be a social living atmosphere, where Mystery could live within walking distance of Sunset Boulevard and live together with other pickup artists who are dedicated to the game. By having the perfect logistics, pickup artists living in Project Hollywood could bring groups of girls back to the place very easily for after-parties.
Ultimately, it was a long term living arrangement between multiple pickup artists to share one larger communal space with good logistics.
Who Lived At Project Hollywood?
Numerous people came and went during the time of Project Hollywood, but here is a list of some notable names:
- Erik Von Markovik (Mystery)
- Neil Strauss (Style)
- Owen Cook (RSD Tyler)
- Nick Kho (RSD Papa)
- Todd VanDeHey (Xaneus)
My Experience Living In A Game House
I did not realize how powerful it was to be part of a game house until I moved into the ‘Onega Mansion’ game house in London in 2017. The name was a little obnoxious, but it was simply what the WhatsApp group was named for the residents living there.
Onega Mansion had 4 floors, a communal outdoor garden overlooking the docks, and 8 balconies.
The first floor had a huge open kitchen with plenty of space to wrestle in the middle. I witnessed at least one of these kitchen wrestling matches. In the corner of the kitchen was a small room with a little extension of the kitchen, with a washing machine, a sink, a window and not much else. There was also a toilet and a nice sized entrance room.
The second floor had a large room which was supposed to be a lounge, but was used by the landlord as his bedroom. It had no bed. Just a mattress and a sofa. Joe was the landlord’s name. He was a skinny middle aged Indian man with a bald head and was very eccentric. I met him at the first ever Real Social Dynamics event which was famously known as the RSD Free Tour. We became friends and it is through him that I came to live in the house. Also on the second floor was a bedroom, about half the size of the landlord’s lounge-bedroom-lair of a man cave. This bedroom was occupied by a very nice guy from Leeds, England. His name was Anton. He wasn’t involved in game, but was aware of it because of the other tenants. He was genuinely very pleasant to talk to and very lighthearted.
The third floor had two bedrooms and a bathroom. This is where I was based. Each room had its own balcony. The balconies were great because you couldn’t be seen from another room, only from across the entire dock. Shortly after I moved in, a freakishly tall Polish guy moved into the room next to mine. He was one of the guys in the game. After moving out, the room next to me then became occupied by an Italian-Canadian pickup artist, and then by a Jewish American pickup artist, then by two Russian women.
The top floor was a penthouse in itself occupied by a random guy who wasn’t involved in game. The views were amazing.
Why Onega Mansion Was So Good
The location of the house was very advantageous. Being in Canada Water, Southwark, it was only 15 minutes from Oxford Street by the London Underground. Oxford Street wasn’t my kind of place, but it is one of the busiest streets in all of Europe and a typical cold approach arena for London day gamers.
Being in Zone 2, there was really no reason to be any closer to the very center of the city. If I wanted to do night game in Camden, it would only take 20 minutes to get back. If I had a date in Shoreditch, it would take probably 10 minutes to get to my area. If I was pulling a fellow student from university, it would only take 15 minutes by subway.
Being in a strange but well connected part of the city was also great for fuckbuddies and girlfriends to come over to mine. I even had a long term girlfriend who would always come over to my place, never being bothered by the fact that I had never even seen her place before or ever visited her. My place would naturally and very easily be the second date location for many of the girls I was seeing.
The communal garden overlooked the docks and despite being shared with many apartments and several large houses, I went many months without seeing a single person even out there other than a gardener doing maintenance. It made no sense to me, so I eventually got a huge BBQ fire pit and started bringing girls over just to cook some good old BBQ chicken, steaks, s’mores, or other things.
One time I was doing a small meetup with some guys from RSD Inner Circle London, and a woman walked by who lived in the apartments on the opposite side. We befriended each other and later went on a date. She took me to see her place too. All because it was that easy to connect over a neighborhood BBQ… I’m just her friendly neighborhood BBQ man.
My Room Setup
At first, I had inherited some furniture from whoever previously occupied the room. There was a bed, a table, a wardrobe, some shelves and two chairs for the balcony. I immediately made use of the table by stockpiling bottles of alcohol on it, from wine (Kidnapped from my university by several girls who conspired with me to smuggle them into my duffle bag to follow me for an after-party from the first ever university event we attended) to rum, vodka and tequila that I acquired through more legitimate means, by either purchasing them or simply having bottles left over from fuckbuddies who would come over. With my legitimate table of alcohol and energy drinks set up, I would half proudly and half jokingly tell people that I have a bar in my room.
My bed was lined up next to the window. There was an awkward gap between the mattress and the wall, so I introduced some fun soft pillows to stop girls falling into it.
On the wall above the bed I put up postcards from my travels. It wasn’t much at first, but it really started expanding over time with postcards from Berlin, Paris, Turin, Montréal and other cities. I also added colorful lights that react to sound, leaving some girls mesmerized with looking at the light device or playing with it.
The window had the great Canadian flag on it… For patriotic reasons. This became a thing once a crack in the window appeared from what apparently could have been someone throwing something at the window from all the way down on the street.
Over time, I introduced a low but long table to the balcony, some beanbags, decorations and little lights. By the end, I had gone even further and added a red carpet (Which was actually just a ridiculously oversized towel) to cover the concrete floor. These efforts made it cosy enough for girls to start wanting to have sex on the floor of the balcony.
At the end of the bed I had a lightbox on a small table. Girls would sometimes use the letters provided to make their own signs.
The great part about having a ‘bar’ in your room is that you can give girls energy drinks if they are too tired.
Onega Mansion: Home Dates
One of my first ever blog posts about game was a list of so many date ideas guys can choose to take women on. I wrote about home dates, and I still feel that there are a lot of guys missing out on some very simple and effective home dates.
One common home date I had involved having pre-drinks before going to a club. One of my former girlfriends matched with me on Tinder, came over for pre-drinks, went to the club with me and then came back to my place again to stay the night. It’s a good idea to get girls to come over for pre-drinks with the genuine intent to go out to a nightclub together, because she is already familiar with your home when you try to pull her from the club later anyway.
Already mentioned earlier, BBQs were awesome and I never got tired of them. It was a seasonal thing, though.
Cooking in general is a very good way to have home dates, even on the first date. I have taught women how to cook, as well as been cooked food by women, or just cooked together. Even if it’s just baking cookies, something I did with girls I was interested in since I was about 12. I have learned from Italian girls, Portuguese girls (Egg on a steak thing), Korean girls, Japanese girls, but the worst girls at cooking were the English girls. I had one girl who couldn’t even microwave Uncle Ben’s rice without fucking it up.
Onega Mansion: The Degenerate House
As time rolled on, people came and went. The Polish guy in the next room left, and in came a Canadian guy called Livio who normally lived in Montréal. We instanty hit it off and became good friends, and he was much more devious, immature and humorous than I was. A recipe for disaster.
The Onega Mansion received a new nickname… The Degenerate House.
By now, we had 6 guys living in the house, and 4 were in the game. Some of us would regularly go out together to nightclubs, see each other’s progress and just have an awesome time in general.
It was sad when Livio moved out, he had only been with us for a few months. He was quickly replaced by an American Jew who was the scruffier, shorter, hairier, unemployed Florida version of myself. Before long, I came to realize that he had some major problems.
One time I was pulling a Chinese girl to my room and he just opened the door and came in while she was in my bed. The guy had no awareness, especially awareness of boundaries. He would pace around in the kitchen ranting about Jews and ‘how Hitler was right’. He was just like Alan from The Hangover, he even sounded the same. Eventually he pissed off everyone enough to send the guy in the penthouse into an explosive temper, setting off a chain of events that just led to the landlord kicking him out of the house. As he was collecting the last of his stuff, he said to the nicest guy of the house, ‘hey, Anton, you know who I hate?’. Without hesitation, Anton said ‘the Belgians?’, and shut the door on his face before he could say ‘the Jews’.
By now, myself and Joe were the last remaining guys in the house who were into game. The crazy American guy was replaced by two Russian girls. They were very classy and became good friends of mine. One was eccentric and would haunt the kitchen in the form of an air-powered T-rex. But I had no complaints; I considered this a huge upgrade from the hauntings of the American Nazi and his rants about the Jews.
All this to say… The ultimate lesson here was that you should be careful who you let in your house. When part of a game house, it is important to keep weird people out and to give way to guys who are genuinely dedicated to picking up women and improving themselves. Make sure you filter out the wrong people.
How Do I Join A Game House?
Having started the Game Houses initiative in 2021, Game Global has enabled guys to connect with each other to join game houses or form their own from scratch. There are multiple active game houses across the world, including game houses in Las Vegas, multiple cities in Texas, Toronto, Ottawa, Paris, Melbourne and even in the state of Ohio.
People who are part of a game house or are interested in joining one are part of the official Game Houses group on Telegram. The group can be used to exchange all kinds of ideas around game houses and anything else useful and relevant to what it means to be part of a game house.
The Game Houses Map holds information on game houses past and present. This is where you can see active game houses that may be available to join.
- Using the Game Houses Map, look for any cities you are interested in living in.
- Select a green Game House icon.
- Send a message via the link in the pop-up box.
- Wait to be added to the Game Houses group where you can communicate with the frontman for the Game House you are interested in.
See the Game Houses page for further details, including a list of all known game houses over time.
How Can I Set Up A Game House Like Project Hollywood?
The best way to set up a game house is by joining your local Game City and announcing to the group that you are looking to set up a game house.
We recommend these steps:
- Discuss the idea of putting together a game house in your local group.
- Engage with people who are interested.
- Send @IceWhiteOfficial a message requesting to join the Game Houses group for further guidance.
Once established, new game houses can be added to the Game Map of your local city, where guys can see date locations, day game areas, night game areas and more.
You can then be an admin of the Game Houses group to represent your game house.
Visiting The Game Las Vegas House
In 2023, I visited the Game Las Vegas House the same week it started. There was no furniture, just 3 or 4 chairs by the back door. Three guys had set it up together and they chose a nice property in Las Vegas with some beautiful rooms and good space.
It was good to finally see another game house coming up out of nowhere, having never set foot in one since I moved out of Onega Mansion.
I wasn’t even living there, only visiting for an hour. But it felt like a fresh start for these guys, and it was a beautiful feeling.
I remember my first time moving to a big city. I got laid within days of arriving, and then had sex with another girl by my 8th day. I always associated that early success in the big city to the fresh new environment, and the excitement of the new adventure. Since moving to the big city all those years ago, I never had a dry spell of 14 days or more ever again. I went on dates almost every single week and was able to have sex regularly. And the funny part is… I was lazy.
